The truth about Acai + Acai Bowl Recipe

Acai Bowl. I’ve heard of it a hundred times but I’ve never made one at home until recently. But what’s the special something about this berry? Why is it so healthy? It’s simple: It has a pretty high ORAC Value (100.000). This is very high compared to other fruits as the Kiwi, which shows a value of 600. But what is the ORAC? ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. It’s a lab test that attempts to quantify the „total antioxidant capacity“ (TAC) of foods. The higher the value, the better the ability of the food to fight free radicals. This reduces skin aging and helps strengthen your immune system. Apart from that it supplies the body with calcium and iron.
I use the Acai powder (the ORAC value is not as high as the berry: 40.000) from Terra Elements. It is organic and raw food, actually everything you would ask for when shopping the perfect Acai for your daily breakfast blast 🙂


Ingredients for one Acai Smoothie Bowl:
one banana
200ml almond milk
100g blackberries
a heaped teaspoon Acai Powder
opt: raspberries, coconut flakes and dates

Instructions: Mix all the ingredients and serve it with fresh blackberries and coconut flakes. If you like it sweet: Just mix some dates and use it as a sweetener.
